# How does Mars Move-In work?

> Pick a free plot on the map, sign in with an email link, design your habitat (type, name, logo, link), and pay with Stripe. Your habitat lands on the live map within seconds and you get a shareable page. You can edit it any time.

## 1. Choose a plot

Tap any empty plot to see its price. Prices start at $5 on the colony's outer ring and rise toward the landing pad. The "Claim from $5" button on the welcome card flies you to the nearest $5 plot.

Seeded Founding Habitats can be claimed too, for a flat $5. Occupied habitats can be taken over for 1.25× their value.

## 2. Design your habitat

Choose a habitat type, upload a logo (we take its main color for your building, which you can change), and pick a name, a short description, a website link and your address on marsmovein.com.

A first claim offers the standard low-rise habitats. Taller ones unlock on plots that have changed hands; locked types show exactly what unlocks them.

## 3. Pay, then land

Checkout runs on Stripe; we never see your card number. While you pay, the plot is held for you for 30 minutes so nobody else can grab it.

When payment succeeds your habitat lands on the map with a short arrival animation, everyone watching sees it in the colony log, and you get a receipt by email. If something stops us delivering it (for example a rule changed while you paid), the payment is refunded automatically.

## 4. After you move in

Your page at marsmovein.com/your-name shows your habitat with a share image for X and other networks. Visits and website clicks are counted, and the most visited habitats appear in the rankings.

You can edit your habitat's name, logo, colors, description, link and type at any time, free. If someone takes it over, you're emailed and receive Oxygen Credits.

### How long does it take to appear on the map?

Usually a few seconds after Stripe confirms the payment.

### What if I close the tab during payment?

Payment confirmation also arrives from Stripe directly, so your habitat is created even if you never return to the site.

### Can I change my habitat later?

Yes. Owners can change the name, logo, colors, description, link and habitat type (among the types their plot has unlocked) for free.

### How many plots can I hold?

Up to 2 per account.

### What happens to my address if I'm taken over?

The new owner chooses their own address, so your old link stops pointing at that plot. Your Oxygen Credits let you move in somewhere else.
