# How much does Mars Move-In cost?

> A new plot costs $5 on the colony's outer ring, rising by $2.50 per ring to about $28 next to the landing pad. Founding Habitats cost a flat $5. Taking over an existing habitat costs 1.25× its current value. Every price is a one-time payment shown before you pay.

## New plots

Jezero Crater has 10 rings of plots around the landing pad. The outermost ring costs $5 per plot; each ring closer to the pad adds $2.50, so the plots right beside the pad cost about $28. Future colonies can have their own price level.

The map always shows the exact price of a plot when you tap it, and checkout shows the total before you pay.

## Founding Habitats

Nine seeded Founding Habitats are spread across the colony. Their first real owner pays a flat $5, wherever they are, and then they work like any other plot.

## Takeovers

To take over a habitat you pay 1.25× its current value, rounded up to the next dollar. That payment becomes the plot's new value, so the next takeover costs 1.25× again.

A $5 plot becomes $7, then $9, then $12, and so on. The displaced owner receives Oxygen Credits worth what their habitat was valued at.

## Credits, taxes and extras

Oxygen Credits can pay for part or all of your next plot. There are no subscriptions, renewals or hidden fees; editing your habitat is free. Prices are in US dollars and any taxes your card issuer adds are shown by them.

## Key points

- New plots: $5 on the edge, up to about $28 by the pad

## Common questions

### Is there a monthly fee?

No. You pay once to claim or take over a plot.

### Why do central plots cost more?

Plots near the landing pad are the most visible and the most contested, so they start higher.

### Can I pay with Oxygen Credits?

Yes. Checkout lets you apply your credits; you pay only the rest.

### Do prices ever go down?

A plot's value only changes when it's taken over, and each takeover raises it by 25%.
