What are Oxygen Credits?
Written and reviewed by Mars Move-In · Updated October 5, 2026
Oxygen Credits are a balance you receive when someone takes over your habitat, equal to its value before the takeover. Spend them on any claim or takeover in Mars Move-In. They can't be withdrawn or exchanged for money.
How you get them
When your habitat is taken over, its value before the takeover is added to your Oxygen Credits and you get an email. Your balance shows in your account panel on the map.
How to spend them
At checkout, credits are applied first and you pay only the rest. If your credits cover the whole price, the plot is yours without opening Stripe.
What they are not
Credits aren't money. They can't be withdrawn, transferred to someone else, or exchanged for cash, and they may end if the service ends.
Key points
- Received when you're taken over
- Worth your habitat's value
- Spent at checkout on any plot
- No cash value

No, they stay with your account.
Do I get credits for a Founding Habitat?+
Founding Habitats had no owner before their first purchase, so no credits are created when they're claimed.

Anyone can take over a habitat for 1.25× its value. The previous owner gets Oxygen Credits, and contested plots unlock bigger buildings.
Plots cost $5 on the outer ring and up to about $28 next to the landing pad. Takeovers cost 1.25× a habitat's value. One-time payments, no subscription.
A plot is the right to show your habitat, logo, name, link and address at that spot on the map while you hold it and the service runs.
