Every core feature of Mars Move-In works if you decline analytics and advertising.
1. What we use
| Technology | Purpose | How long | Choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase sign-in cookies (sb-…-auth-token) | Keep you signed in and secure your session | Until you sign out or the session expires | Essential |
| mmi_consent | Remember your analytics and advertising choice | 180 days | Essential |
| mmi_vid | Random id so each habitat's visits are counted once per visitor per day | 1 year | Essential |
| mmi_attr | Remember which campaign or link brought you, to credit purchases | 30 days | Technical |
| Browser storage: mmi.guide.v1, mmi_internal | Remember that you've seen the intro; mark our own test devices | Until you clear it | Technical |
| PostHog (ph_… cookie and storage) | Product analytics and session replay with typed text masked | Up to 1 year | Optional analytics |
| Meta Pixel (_fbp) | Measure whether Meta ads lead to visits and purchases | Up to 90 days | Optional advertising |
| X Pixel (set by X on its domains) | Measure whether X ads lead to visits and purchases | Set by X | Optional advertising |
| Stripe (on checkout.stripe.com) | Fraud prevention and secure payment | Set by Stripe | Essential for payment |
2. Optional analytics and advertising
Optional analytics (PostHog storage and session replay) and advertising pixels (Meta, X) help us improve the map and know which ads work. They are never needed to browse, sign in or buy.
3. Accept, decline or change your mind
In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland a banner asks first; nothing optional loads until you choose "Accept all". To change your choice later, clear this site's cookies and reload to see the banner again. Elsewhere optional tools load by default; block them with your browser or a content blocker and the site keeps working.
4. Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and site data. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and stop checkout from working.
5. Who sets them
Supabase, PostHog and our own cookies are set on marsmovein.com. Meta, X and Stripe set theirs under their own policies.
6. Updates and contact
We update this table when we add or remove a tool. Questions: hello@marsmovein.com.
