Terms of Service

1. Who we are and accepting these terms

Mars Move-In is operated by Vidyuth Subbaiah ("we"). By creating an account, claiming a plot or using the site you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live; younger users need a parent or guardian to agree for them. If you act for a company, you confirm you may bind it.

2. What a plot is

A plot is a position on the Mars Move-In map plus the habitat, name, logo, description, link and address shown on it. Buying one gives you the right to display that content there while you hold the plot and while the service operates. It is not land or real estate (nobody can own land on Mars), not a token, NFT or cryptocurrency, not a security and not an investment, and it has no cash or resale value.

3. Claiming plots

Empty plots are claimed at the price shown on the map, from $5 on a colony's outer ring. Founding Habitats seeded by us can be claimed for a flat $5; their first purchase is a claim, after which they are normal plots. MarsMoveIn HQ is not for sale. Each account may hold up to 2 habitats.

4. Takeovers

Anyone may take over a habitat by paying 1.25× its current value, rounded up to the dollar. The payment becomes the plot's new value. The new owner replaces the habitat's content and address. You cannot prevent a takeover of your habitat.

5. Oxygen Credits

When your habitat is taken over you receive Oxygen Credits equal to its value before the takeover. Credits can only be used toward plots on Mars Move-In. They can't be withdrawn, transferred, sold or exchanged for money, and they end if the service ends or your account is closed for breaking these terms.

6. Habitat types and limits

First claims may use standard habitats. Larger habitat types unlock after takeovers or at higher values, and tall habitats and rockets are limited per colony (see Habitat types and unlocks). We may change these thresholds and limits for future purchases.

7. Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe; we don't receive your card number. A purchase is a single payment with no subscription.

8. Holds and confirmation

When you start checkout we hold the plot for you for about 30 minutes. Your purchase is confirmed when the payment succeeds and your habitat appears. If we can't deliver it (for example the plot became unavailable or a habitat limit was reached), the payment is refunded in full.

9. Your account

You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email. Keep access to that inbox secure; you're responsible for activity on your account.

10. Your content and links

You keep ownership of your names, logos, text and links, and give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display them on the map, your habitat page, share images, rankings and our own promotion of Mars Move-In, for as long as they're on the service. You confirm you have the rights to everything you add and that it follows the Content Rules.

11. Moderation

We may edit, hide or remove content or a habitat that breaks these terms or the Content Rules, or that we must remove by law, without a refund. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to account closure.

12. Refunds

Because your habitat is delivered immediately, purchases are final once it appears, except where the law says otherwise or as described in the Refund Policy.

13. The service and changes

Mars Move-In is provided as is. We may change features, prices for new purchases, colonies or the map, and may end the service with notice on the site. We don't guarantee any number of visitors, clicks or uninterrupted availability.

14. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

15. Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and continued use means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where the operator is based, without limiting any protections your local consumer law gives you. Contact: hello@marsmovein.com.
